The number one statement we need to understand today is, we are not our bodies - we are only our soul.

What's the body here for, you ask? It's the car on the road trip of life. It's the vehicle that allows us to do good actions in the world and to be a conduit for revealing positive energy.

The body is a temporary means to an end. I think all of us have had those middle-of-the-night epiphanies, where we realize the depth of this statement. But it's hard to keep in our minds, and we all fall into caring what people think about us - good or bad - and we obsess over our reflection in the mirror.

The Baal Shem Tov, a Kabbalist who lived and taught in the 18th century, reminded his students to always feel they are only soul. Yes, the body is a temple, and it's important to care for and respect it. But again, we have to reclaim our territory and care of our soul.

How? Well, for starters, the soul needs to be fed. What does our soul eat? Energy, of course. The energy feeding our soul comes from the good actions we do on a daily basis. The number one way to have a soul that is harmonious, open and well-fed is to systematically look for people that need help and do what we can to meet their needs.

Another tip for caring for our soul comes first thing in the morning. The Kabbalists recommend waking up each day roaring like a lion. The seed for our entire day begins in the morning. In fact, if we find we've been upside down and in a bad mood all day, it's likely it began in the morning.

But if we change our consciousness, knowing something great is going to happen, excited about the unexpected magic, intending that this day will be the best day ever, we'll be shocked to see how many incredible things will happen to us. When we wake up energized and ready to go for it, we will be in tune with our soul.

Today, practice waking up each day like a lion. Really put your soul forward from the beginning of the day. And notice the ongoing, non-stop demands of your body. Redirect these desires by looking for ways to share love, time and effort with people. You never know when the Light is going to put someone in your path whose day - or life - you can save.

Law of attraction http://lableon.lacoctelera.net/post/2009/04/07/law-of-attraction 2009-04-07T19:06:34+00:00

Law Of Attraction And How to Make It Work For You

The Law of Attraction is a universal law that says all your thoughts, positive and negative, vibrate at a certain frequency and like attracts like. In other words, you get what you ask for - the frequency of your thoughts attract things to your life vibrating at the same frequency. This happens whether you are conscious of it or not.

You may have heard all the buzz about the Law of Attraction from the movie or book "The Secret," or perhaps it is brand new to you. Either way, the important thing to know is there is no secret to using it, you already use it everyday! The key is to know that you can learn to control your thoughts and attract whatever you wish.

Notice above I mentioned that all your thoughts (including negative) send a message to the universe, whether that is your intention or not. So, ALWAYS think and say what you want, NOT WHAT YOU DON'T WANT!

"I don't want to be poor" will only attract poverty. Think instead, "I am wealthy."

"I hope I don't get the flu" will surely make you more vulnerable. Change that thought to "I am strong and healthy."

Don't be fooled though. It takes practice, patience and absolute faith in your mind that not only will you receive what you think, but (and this is the most important part!) you must believe, act, and feel as though you have already received whatever it is you asked for. This is a very key point, so please re-read the previous words:

"...you must believe, act, and feel as though you have already received whatever it is you asked for."

Here's why. Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between fact and fiction. In other words, you can fool your subconscious into believing anything if you consciously make the effort to believe it yourself - the finer the detail the better.

Use all your senses.

  • See it.
  • Feel it.
  • Taste it.
  • Smell it.
  • Hear it.
  • Act it.

Convince yourself that you already have what you want and the speed at which the universe delivers it to you will amaze you!

Just don't forget to be ready to receive. It does take effort on your part to leave yourself open to receive what you want. Be aware of signs, sudden opportunities, unexpected calls or mail, gut feelings or intuition. Act on these things with full confidence and belief that what you wish for is already yours and you deserve it.

Don't believe it? Believe or not, the law still exists. You've already been using it your whole life, you just didn't know. It's up to you whether you want to have more control over what it brings you and how fast you get it.

Go ahead, think back in your life.

How many times have you thought about someone you haven't seen or heard from in a while and suddenly you get an unexpected phone call, email, etc. from that person?

Perhaps as a child or adolescent you thought about a certain job you wanted to have when grown up, or a certain place you wanted to live, or what your spouse would be like. And now, you find yourself with the very things you thought about.

If you try, everyone can come up with something you have manifested with your thoughts.

Why not take more control and use the Law of Attraction everyday to manifest the life you deserve?

“... When we knock hard enough at the Light's door, we will get an answer.” http://lableon.lacoctelera.net/post/2009/04/03/when-we-knock-hard-enough-at-the-light-s-door-we-will 2009-04-03T19:47:33+00:00 Personally, I devote my life to plugging into the Light not only because I need answers, but because I know that my answers can benefit other people as well. This is what is called being a channel.

We all have friends, family and colleagues who come to us with their own deep questions. The best thing to do is close our eyes (if we're alone), blank out our minds, cancel out all thoughts and perceptions (to the best of our ability), and ask the Light for the answer.

We want to avoid giving an answer if it comes from us. If we have to, we can say we don't know and we'll get back to them. Sometimes saying I don't know is the most spiritual thing we can do. All we need to know is when we knock hard enough at the Light's door, we will get an answer.

We can all do it - that's why we're here. We're all designed with this innate power. All we have to do is quiet the frequencies in our mind and tune into the Light.

Of course, the more we crave and seek this ability, the more it will grow for us. And yet we are already unbelievable channels. Just knowing this will help us in our quest for answers.

This week, practice being a channel every single chance you get. There are countless opportunities to do so all day long. When our friends ask us about dilemmas at work, we want to ask the Light for the answer and move our agenda right out of the way. When we need to figure out what to type in an e-mail to a friend with whom we've been arguing, this is what we want to do. From small questions to big ones, as we practice this skill and integrate it into our lives, we will see incredible miracles.

Ultimately, being a channel is about being in the right place at the right time, and saying & doing the right thing. This is what we all can have if we live life with this consciousness.

Live with audacity http://lableon.lacoctelera.net/post/2009/03/23/live-with-audacity 2009-03-23T17:05:58+00:00 LIVE WITH AUDACITY!

Remember that you can ask for more than you have earned or deserve.  But it's more than just asking - it's living in this consciousness.  If you are going to do something that involves assisting others, don't hope for it to turn out well.  Insist that it does.  Push beyond your personal boundaries of what you think you can do and what you think you deserve.  Because as long as you are focusing on drawing these abilities for the sake of sharing, you can ask for everything.

Fat burning power foods http://lableon.lacoctelera.net/post/2009/01/08/fat-burning-power-foods 2009-01-08T18:20:12+00:00 One easy way to lose fat is to make healthy eating automatic. The way I achieved that was by first memorizing a list of fat-burning foods. Now I shop and eat primarily from that list.

In this post I'll tell you what I consider to be the best fat-burning foods. I'll even give you a cool way to remember what they are!

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

The list I shop from is the "Abs Diet" fat-burning Power Foods list (see below). I suggest you write down and memorize this list. Then when you grocery shop, make sure to get as many items from the list as you can.

You may have heard of the Abs Diet. It's a book and diet written by fitness author David Zinczenko that explains hows to get a flatter stomach by eating the "12 Power Foods". These are foods that help your body burn fat naturally.

It's simple, really. Here's what I do:

1) Include two of the power foods in every meal; and

2) eat five or six small meals a day instead of three big meals. (This spreads out the calories so they burn more completely and don't turn to fat as easily.)

The Power Foods List

Zinczenko created the acronym "ABS DIET POWER" as an aid for remembering the Power Foods list. Here is the list:

The 12 Power Foods

  • Almonds, and other nuts
  • Beans, and other legumes
  • Spinach, and other green vegetables
  • Dairy (fat-free or low-fat milk, yogurt, cheese)
  • Instant Oatmeal (unsweetened, unflavored)
  • Eggs
  • Turkey, and other lean meats
  • Peanut butter
  • Olive oil
  • Whole grain breads and cereals
  • Extra-protein (whey) powder
  • Raspberries, and other berries

As you can see, the first letter of each food item spells out the phrase "ABS DIET POWER". Say this phrase out loud five times right now: Abs Diet Power, Abs Diet Power, Abs Diet Power, Abs Diet Power, Ab Diet Power. Do it again in a few minutes, and then repeat it again later. If you can remember "Abs Diet Power" when you get to the grocery store then you're halfway to remembering the list!

A Course in Miracles http://lableon.lacoctelera.net/post/2008/12/31/a-course-in-miracles 2008-12-31T14:36:19+00:00 Just as God's direction offers peace, we repeat this lesson to remind ourselves that peace is our true desire.

This holy instant would I give to You. Be You in charge. For I would follow You, Certain that Your direction gives me peace. And if I need a word to help me, He will give it to me. If I need a thought, that will He also give. And if I need but stillness and a tranquil, open mind, these are the gifts I will receive of Him. He is in charge by my request. And He will hear and answer me, because He speaks for God my Father and His holy Son.

Quote of the Day
"Spiritual growth is not about becoming more metaphysically complicated, but rather it is about growing simpler, as these very basic principles begin to permeate more and more deeply into our thought system."

The 60s EXERCISE FOR YOUR AGE http://lableon.lacoctelera.net/post/2008/12/31/the-60s-exercise-for-your-age 2008-12-31T14:02:52+00:00

Rx: 3 days a week of challenging but not exhausting cardio, such as a slow jog, plus 3 days of weight training, using lighter weights and slower, more controlled movements combined with slow, sustained stretching. Walk whenever possible, and do daily balance exercises.

In the 60s, problems like arthritis, bad knees, and spinal stenosis (a narrowing of the spaces between bones that can put painful pressure on the spinal cord) become common. "But aches and pains shouldn't be an excuse for giving up on exercise," says Marilyn Moffat, PhD, a professor of physical therapy at New York University and coauthor of Age-Defying Fitness. "We now know that a decline in strength and fitness isn't entirely a natural consequence of the aging process but is also due to lack of use. We need to push ourselves physically no matter how old we are—we just may need to alter the activity."

Adapting a workout routine for the 60s sometimes means giving up aerobic exercise that jars and stresses the joints—for example, replacing long runs with jogging one or two miles, jogging in a pool, swimming, or riding a stationary bicycle. (Women with bad backs may need to use a recumbent bicycle.) Moffat, who is 65, says that, on average, she walks three to five miles a day because it offers both cardio and bone-strengthening benefits.

Resistance training is still important, "but I would not advise anyone to lift heavy weights if it aggravates your joints," Moffat says. And stretching and balance are absolute musts. If you don't stretch now, "by the time you're in your 80s, your joints will have lost their flexibility." One of Moffat's favorite stretches is holding the head tilted earlobe to shoulder for 60 seconds; another (if you don't have osteoporosis) is sitting on the floor with legs straight out in front of you, feet flexed, and lowering your head toward your knees. For balance, she suggests "rising up on the toes of one foot and trying to hold the position for a minute. You can do this while brushing your teeth."

In fact, that's a good image for any age—the sooner exercise becomes like brushing your teeth, the longer you'll feel younger than your years.
